What is CAT?
CAT/ MBA is one of the toughest management entrance examinations in India. This is conducted by six IIM (Indian Institute of Management). Nearly two lakhs of students take CAT every year, but only 1400 (approx) get selected in IIMs. They become cream de la cream of the country. They become demigod in business world with passing years. They get Unimaginable Pay packets which a normal mortal can only dream of.
Almost all the careers get affected when recession hits that sector. But an MBA from IIM is something different. It’s an evergreen degree, which helps in whatever you do, wherever you do and however you do. Young Students aspire for doing an MBA from IIMs because they get an opportunity to live their dream.
Why CAT is TOUGH?
It is one of the toughest examinations in India. Toughness of CAT lies in the time constraints and the type of problem asked .If we try to find out the allocated time per question then it comes to roughly 40 seconds. If there is no time constraint then any normal student can solve the paper. The complexity arises when all this is constrained by time. One is required to take care of negative marking and sectional cut-offs as well.
CAT is Tough because it is
Unpredictable
CAT pattern is not predictable. One year there might be four sections while another year there might be three sections only. One year there may be sectional timing restrictions whereas another year there might not be any restrictions at all. One year the Quantitative Aptitude may be very lengthy whereas another year RC might be tough. And in between a year may come when all sections are easy. It’s difficult to predict it. Due to this very nature of CAT, students are unable to decide their preparation strategy and choice of coaching Institutes.
Lengthy
CAT paper is normally lengthy. The questions are asked in long paragraphs, the language used cannot be termed simple therefore it is difficult to read and comprehend.
Difficult
CAT is difficult because it does not ask direct questions. The questions are put in such a way that it tests the ability of a student to apply the fundamentals to a given situation. In schools and colleges the students are exposed to direct questions. They are not taught the application of fundamentals. Therefore, most of the students find it difficult.
Sectional Cut-offs
Sectional cut-offs are another hiccup. CAT looks for all round performance. Every student has his strength or weakness. One might be good in one area and so-so in another area. Attempting only sections in which one is strong does not work in CAT. A student is required to show all round performance.
Negative Marks
It’s an area of concern. If you are doing blind guessing, you are doomed. You will end up with negative score. No body knows the actual negative marks in CAT but it is assumed to be ¼.
Time Management
Given all the above factors time management becomes a Herculean task.
This means that you cannot sit upon your laurels, instead you need to work upon your weaker sections as well.
This is quite tough- “Doing what you hate doing”.
A lot of planning is required if you want to make it to IIMs.

this pic is real. this pic is taen in our independance day parade in patna. this well known political couple lalo prasad yadhav and his wife gave this respect to our national anthem.

moral of this message is think while you vote

M.B.A is now the most preferred course in our country. The booming economy of our country now demands MBA graduates in large numbers. Corporates are ready to offer lakhs to hire these graduates from top B schools.

Last year ISB (Indian School of Business) recorded highest paid graduate in its placement cell. The highest pay was 104 lakhs per annum. The average pay was 12 lakhs per annum. Top IIMs recorded 84 lakh as the highest offer given to its graduates. 11 lakhs being its average scale
This is the reason for the hype the course has. India produces MBAs in large numbers only next to USA. But MNCs are ready to pay such huge amount for freshers from top B schools. This is due to the intense pressure these people are subjected to undergo in their syllabi.

MNCs believe that these people could manage to adjust to stress which they would have to face in their jobs. Sometimes these assumptions prove to be wrong.

Let us see are these high pays worth of it?
Yes:

  •  When we compare our top B schools with world’s top B schools why shouldn’t our graduates paid equal to those people?
  •  These graduates are the intensively trained intelligent people in our country in this field.

No:

  • Freshers who don’t have enough experience when paid equal to experienced people in those Corporates will lead to problems.
  • Our graduates have an average one year work experience while they join these courses, which is less when compared to average four years of work experience in other world class B schools.

Is this shortage artificial?
We have shortage of MBA graduates from IIMs. They produce very less when compared to projected 14 thousand market demand this year. There are also complaints that this shortage is due to the IIMs, these institutions have no shortage of funds as they are government aided and have good reputation world wide.
Also IIMs have their own problem of maintaining their standard.
Now our politicians have made law for reservation in IIMs. These people can’t be helped until caste politics prevails in our land.
Heavens alone can help our country to escape from these people.

Long long ago, so long ago, no one can say how long ago thallai gave a hit. Now thallai AJITH has done a good, fit to be hit film VARALARU. To be very frank this is his best performance ever and is also a good commercial film.
Many say first half of the film is normal but if you are a fan of ASIN first half will also be interesting. As we all know this is the first film were in ajith plays three roles and has really shown a difference.
Direction is perfect. Cinematography was bad. Music was bad and is not of RAHMAN’s standard. Background music was good, ennisai song was superb. Ajith’s role as father in his flash back was excellent. How can a mass hero play such a role? People enjoyed the last one hour of the film. Ajith has reached the best of his actions; even his eyes speak his role’s perfect ness.
To conclude if thallai’s next film AZHVAR also becomes a hit then no one even the POKIRI (you know whom I talk about) can stop him.

CAT 2006 is scheduled to be on November 19th this Sunday.
IRMA falls on 26th this month.
JMET2007 on December 10th.
SNAP on December 17th.
XAT2007 on January 7th 2007

From now on my blog will have news about MBA entrance and all related stuff.
I also include news about SVCE (our college) and to start with I will post about not so popular guy (a joker people who know him will understand).

Now the topic hot in state is local body elections. As we all know the posts are contested by all political party. Especially Vijayakanth must be appreciated as he contests all alone again. The thing which I found odd is every post has at least ten contestants. Even for the post of counselor they are ready to spend nearly a lakh. Only then I felt that how would these people serve us without money mind. If a counselor spends this much how much would a MP or MLA spend? How much will these people get in their post, how corrupted they are?
This clearly shows no one is perfect. No one is going to do any good to us. So why don’t we vote for persons who are dear to us in our society. For example auto drivers in your area may contest why don’t we vote him?
So India can’t be expected to grow with these corrupt people. I don’t say other nations are free of corruption, but there if a tender is left for a road construction amount will be shared by people in power after construction of road if something remains then but here amount will be shared and then the road is constructed if something remains.

In the last one month world witnessed to main wars. Israel vs Lebanon (terrorist) and Lankan vs LTTE. The worst part is both these violated all so called human rights defined by western countries.
Israeli attack had no reasons. They had the reason of war against terrorism. But think of the past wars waged by Israel and this latest one the main reason was establishing it as super power in west Asia. America the big brother played its dual role again supplied arms to Israel, also made so called efforts to bring peace.
Lanka again proved it is not powerful to defend attacks from group fighting for basic human rights. I don’t understand how come LTTE is terrorist group and Palestine’s late Arafat is man who fought for freedom of his people. We all know tamilians are treated as animals by Lankan government.
India is different in both these cases. We have more reasons than what America and Israel had to fight against terrorism. We even now aim at peace with Pakistan. And about lanka I feel we must act quickly, we alone can bring rightful end for this race between both. What a cruel act of Lankan army they killed 61 orphan girls. How come they follow Buddhism? Is this what the religion says it didn’t even ask an apology? Are they not citizens of their country? What qualification they have to bid for UN secretary elections?

i get lots of mail asking where is link for last year ranking in colleges.it will be displayed in the flash of web itself.this was case until last year.this year it is not done yet.u can mail me to know about colleges.my id is jphasmail@gmail.com
